Opal and Garnet Ring

This ring has Ethiopian opal in the center. Ethiopian opal is made up of tiny silica spheres which are packed closely together. Ethiopian opal is known for it's beautiful play-of-color, which is due to the arrangement of the silica spheres which diffract and break up white light into different colors. The two stones at the top of this ring are garnets. Opal is the birthstone for October, and Garnet is the birthstone for January. This ring was handcrafted in India. It is about 1 inch in length and 1/2 inch in width. It is made of sterling silver, is a size 6 but can be resized a maximum of two sizes up or down by a jeweler.
